Class 2 went to Bishops Wood on Friday. We were learning all about houses. We saw some wonderful willow structures and we spent some time playing in them. We sat in the teepee and looked up. You can see a photograph of what we saw. We visited the Saxon house and made some shelters for some little dolls. In the afternoon we made some houses from sticks in the woods and then some brick houses using mini bricks. We had a great day and learned a lot. Hope you enjoy looking at our photographs.

KS1 Christmas party
We had good fun today. We came dressed in our party clothes. Class2 played a game in their classroom first thing then made some fantastic party hats.
In the afternoon we played games together in the hall. We played pass the oarcel and musical statues. We also played a game where we had to run to different corners of the hall. I wonder if any of the KS 2 children remember playing that game?
We had some yummy food.
We all took home a party bag and a balloon.

Baboushka
Today we read the Russian folk story about Baboushka. It was in Russian and English but we couldn't read the Russian! Baboushka was so busy cleaning she missed seeing the baby Jesus.
We worked together to sequence the pictures then we all had a go at writing the captions to go with the pictures. They looked really good when we displayed them on A3 paper. We also worked with Mrs Marks and painted little wooden Baboushkas and in the afternoon we used felt tips and crayons to make our 3 dimensional card Baboushkas.

The Enormous Crocodile
As part of out theme on Big and Small we listened to the story of the Enormous Crocodile by Roald Dahl. We really enjoyed the story. We made a Wanted poster and wrote about the crocodiles character. Hannah thought he was sneaky, greedy, ugly and fierce. In the afternoon we followed instructions and made our own crocodile. Mrs Bevan's crocodile was much bigger than ours! Here are some photographs of our crocodiles. We took it in turns to use the camera to take the pictures.
