Shared Reading In Class 1

Last week class 1 were really lucky to have a visit from several children from classes 3 and 4. They had come to share books with the younger children. First the older children chose a book, and then it was the turn of the younger children to choose. Everyone agreed it had been a great success, so we are hoping to make shared reading a regular feature in class 1 in the coming weeks. A big thank you to all the children from Key Stage 2 who took part.

Robot Week in Class 1

As part of their topic of 'Machines and Inventions', class 1 have set up a factory for making robots. They have developed their technology and design skills and have produced some wonderful inventions. A special thanks to the parents who have worked with their children at home to produce some wonderful models and which have then been brought into school. Here are some examples of the structures that the children made in school.

Four children received Headteacher's awards for their collaberative work to produce the robot that they names R2D5. Are these children going to be the engineers of the future?

KS1 Christmas party

We had good fun today. We came dressed in our party clothes. Class2 played a game in their classroom first thing then made some fantastic party hats.

In the afternoon we played games together in the hall. We played pass the oarcel and musical statues. We also played a game where we had to run to different corners of the hall. I wonder if any of the KS 2 children remember playing that game?

We had some yummy food.

We all took home a party bag and a balloon.
