Pupil Talents: Nadiya's Motor Cross

What is Motor Cross?
Motorcross is a sport. I ride an 85cc, small wheel bike across all kinds ground. It's quite popular. Every two weeks I race against other people around this area. I race with my brother Raees, but I usually beat him.
When did you start racing?
I started racing when I was five, but I wasn't supposed to. You have to me six to race officially though.
What do you like about it?
I like getting muddy and wet. I also like it when I win. I have got lots of trophies. I also like it when I go fast.
Would you recommend it to anyone else?
Yes! It's great.
Operation Christmas Child
We where collecting the boxes from our school and got ready to take them to the ware house, which is a massive building where all the boxes go. We collected 63 boxes but we did not quite reach last years total. We'll have to try harder next year. Thanks.

Class 4 DT Homework: Evaluation
Thank you class 4 for completing some great looking bridges, very aesthetically pleasing. It was very clear that a lot of work was done, and that you used a lot of the knowledge taught at school to help you. It also gave you the opportunity to talk to your parents about what we've been doing.

Rememberance
It is the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.
The guns have long stopped. Silence still haunts the battle fields.
An old man stands silently, wearing his war medals with pride.
He remembers……
Young men stumble. Falling. Life is over for them.
The bombs are a disease that’s spreads sadness, killing on its way.
Only the soldiers keep there silence, some of them cowering on the floor
Dead.
Things are different now, things have changed
Memories lurk around his head,
He has fought them time and time again.
But the most important war he won.
Thank you to Amy Morely who brought this brass tin in (it was her great, great grandads). These tins were given to the soldiers with either chocolate or tobacco in as a gift from the King and Queen.

Guerre
War is over
Both sides wonder
What just happened.
Much time later
Old men gather
Wearing medals
They remember,
The bullets, bombs
shells ,gas and cries.
One long battle
Sealed in his head:
In his scared mind
Soldiers like bucks:
Charging, ready,
running, roaming.
Fellow comrades
Mown down like grass.
Only one left.
Few are alive
Others have died.
They have met doom.
One strange nightfall
It stopped. Rest.
They woke to peace
It's all over.
Soldiers go home
To their families
At the Cenotaph
They lay a wreath.
They remember. Thank you Ellie for bringing in the medals - these were sent in the post to Ellie's great, great grandad. The envelope is still with the medals and is actually worth more than both medals put together.
Class 4 Remembrance poem
Remembrance
It is the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. An old man stands wearing his medals with pride. He remembers …
The bombs banging like a firework display but rapidly. Dead bodies lying on the ground with blood all over them. Blood red as ruby.
The tanks driving around slowly. The soldiers shooting at the enemy. Air raid planes flying around dropping bombs as if dropping stones.
The ashes of burnt bodies as black as charcoal. Two years of ferocious killing killed many people.
The old man stands silently at the cenotaph at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, wearing his golden war medals with pride.

Thinking of his comrades on the 11th of November
Sad thoughts.
Respect. The people who made us proud
Around the cenataph
He remembers........
The first poppies blowing in the wind
Between the graves
The black of the poppy is a pupil watching him
colours.Red,green and black
He remembers......
War.A fire storm of death
Fighting. For his country
Reletives waiting for him to come home
We won....

Operation Christmas Child
Are you able to support Operation Christmas Child this year? This morning we watched the DVD which showed us images of children receiving their shoe boxes. It was quite sad to see some of the children, but we were really pleased to see that our efforts really make a difference.
Already we have about 20 boxes in school. Last year we took 67 shoe boxes to the warehouse -can we beat that this year?
Please bring your boxes into school by Friday 23rd November.

Football Match: Blakedown Vs. Bayton
The series of matches didn't begin well with a 5 - 2 loss, but we quickly came back to draw the next match (0-0) and then finish with two wins, (2-1 & 3-0). Well done Blakedown and Bayton for playing fairly. Congratulations Blakedown for coming overall winner!!!!!
