Sports Festival

On Monday 29th January, 15 children across Key Stages 1 & 2 (plus Mr. Hanson and Mrs. Cutts) went to Haybridge Sports College to take part in the PE and School Sports Pyramid Lauch Festival.

All the training sessions were put on by professional coaches. The activities that we took part in were Trampolining, Taekwondo, Tag Rugby, Cheerleading, and Tri-Golf.

It was a lot of fun and everyone had a different favourite activity.

Holocaust Memorial Day 27th January 2007

The 27th January was Holocaust Memorial day. We've learnt about this in our Class Assembly. It's something that it is important to remember even though the subject is a bit horrible.

For more information on what the Holocaust was and why we should remember it follow these links:

CBBC - Newsround

Some books that tell you about it

You can also look on Expresso in school at their articles on the Holocaust

Be careful at what you look at on this subject as some of the information and pictures might not be suitable for you.

Big Brother

Whats the big argument about between Shilpa Shetty, Jade Goody and others including Danielle Lloyd and Jo O'Meara? To think that all this fuss started from the usual reality TV arguments. Here are some of the remarks that Jade Goody used; "Shilpa Poppadom", "you don't know where those hands have been" - Things aren't very good. Do you think that she was racist and a bully or just a bully?

Limericks

This week in class 4 this week we have been doing about poems, today we have made some limericks up. These are short funny rhyming poems. Here are a few that we have made up;

There was a young lad from Kiddy,
who ate like a little piggy,
he started to squeal,
for he wanted a meal,
the horizontally challenged lad from Kiddy.

There was a young lad from Blakedown,
who had an enormous frown,
it scared a plump pig,
who was eating a fig,
that scary young lad from Blakedown.

There was a strange lad from Blakedown,
who thought he could dance like a clown,
he forgot the song,
so he did it all wrong,
that silly strange lad from Blakedown.

Welcome back!

Welcome back! We have been hard at work since we came back to school on Thursday the 6th of January and have been doing practice SATs for when we properely do them on the 14th of May through to the 19th of May. This is often stressful for the year sixes at Blakedown.

Are there any other year 6 pupils who find SATs stressful out there??
