Super Cinema
On Thursday 14th December, class 3 & 4 went to the cinema to see Happy Feet everyone enjoyed it a lot and recomends for you to see it. It was about a penguin who was different to the rest.
Not only was it a good film it taught us facts about penguins and other animals aswell. It also taught us how polution can effect other animals like penguins.
We all got on the bus at half past nine and didn't get back till half past 12. Seeing as we had missed our lunch time we ate it in the class room and at 1pm we went out for an hours play time. Woohoo!

Santa Special

Today Children from Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 went to see Santa on the Severn Valley Railway. We also met a fairy, Coconut the clown and Mr Holly. Santa gave us all a present for being good children. When we were on the train we passed the Safari Park and saw Santa's Reindeer-we couldn't decide which one was Rudolf! We sang lots of songs and enjoyed our lunch with Christmas crackers when we got back to school.
Merry Christmas!

Class 4 Geography
This term in geography we have been doing about our local enviroment and how we can improve it, this term we decided to take a practical aproch to geography. So we have been out side in the cold working our socks off, some of the jobs we have been doing consists of picking up litter in the school grounds and on the back car park and the sports field. We also sorted out the front of the school and our 120 year memorial garden. As we have only been outside once so far we still have got alot of work to do but we are already seeing the improvements, because the weather is not very good at the momen twe have had to bring in old warm clothes from home, and most of us were in quite a mess, but as they say (a dirty child is a happy child). In the future we want to carry on improving our grounds and making them a better place to be.

Rocking Radio BBC Broadcast!

Today BBC Heredord and Worcestershire radio came to our school to record the whole school singing When Children Rule The World, from the musical 'Whistle down the wind.' We were on air live on the Lizzie Lane Show - We will also be on on Christmas eve and Christmas day.
We felt embaressed when we heard it played back, but it sounded O.K.!

Marvelous Macbeth at Belbroughton

Yesterday the whole of class 4 went to Belbroughton Primary school to see a performance of Macbeth.
We got there at just about on time because we had a smaller coach than we thought so some people had to ride in the teachers cars! They took us into the school hall where we sat in anticipation waiting for it to begin.
For those of you who don't know the we won't spoil it for you, you can have a read of it here, although it is a bit different.
For us the best bits were the three witches were really scarey and made us jump! Also, another good bit was the fighting scene at the end. It was a great show. Finally, we were the best behaved school there!!

Sandwich Snacks

This term, Class 3 have been designing, making and tasting their own sandwiches. Writing this is making me hungry...
Blakedown Buddies
Blakedown C E Primary School Council consists of children from across the whole school. The Council meets every other Tuesday lunchtime to discuss issues or fundraising events which are then fed back to the rest of the school in class assembly by School Council representatives. We also tell children and staff about our ideas and forth coming events through whole school assemblies and Power-Point presentations.
We have a strong pupil voice though School Council meetings, Circle time, Friendship Box, Friendship Stops and Buddies.
As a council we are proud of achieving full Healthy Schools Status in October 2006 and enjoyed telling our validators about the work we have done and showing them around our school.
Road Safety with Robee

As part of Road Safety week, Class 2 & 3 were visited by Robee the Robot, who taught them the correct way to cross the road.
In the photo above, two pupils are waiting for Robee to drive past so they can cross the road safely.
